Expo - Double the
Pleasure. Double the Fun. CABA moves to Winter and Spring Expos
giving more members more days for more networking. What could be
more productive?
Golf - The Charity Golf Classic played at Avila "chipped
in" big-time for education. Golf. Lunch. Golf. Networking. Golf.
Silent Auction. Golf. Dinner. Golf. Live Auction. Golf! Golf!
Golf!
Scholarships -
Kids of CABA now have a $1500 scholarship of their own to shoot
for. It's gifted through the CABA Endowment Fund. 50-50 ticket
proceeds make up a huge part of the funds ' loot. $1 each or 6 for
$5. Get your 50-50 ticket at CABA After Fives.
Mentors - Members
(old) supporting members (new) in the nicest way possible. Mentors
reach out to our newest joiners and lend an hear, share tips on
networking know-how and who's who around our 500 plus
organization. Its all good.
Ambassadors - Drop
in for a Coffee or an After Five and you'll find
red-ribbon-wearing members who are on duty for the day to help
greet, to facilitate introductions or to assist with ice breaking
for any member (new or established) and guests. Remember your
first time at CABA?
Newcomer's Lunch Added
- New members are now formally invited to nosh and network with
key CABA leaders. How does CABA work? and other important
questions are discussed at this new event.
Candidates 411 -
Members running for office now attend an information session to
refresh on "what is CABA" and consider "a day-in-the-life of CABA
Board Members". VOTE CABA. CABA VOTES.
500 ...and counting.
During 2007 CABA reached the quintessential landmark 500th member.
Welcome to Allure Limousines which put CABA half way to 1000
members. Note to the chambers of commerce of greater Tampa - CABA
ROCKS! |
Fabulous Fun
(Networking in disguise). Were you there? NYY Private party in the
Brighthouse Networks Dugout Club. Grand opening Lowes -
Carrollwood. Tampa Bay Lightening CABA group party. Yee Haw!! CABA
Member Appreciation Night at In the Breeze Horseback Riding Ranch
and Childrens Camp. Ehrlich Road Fire Station Ribbon Cutting.
Groundbreaking at Tampa T-Shirts (aka photo session with Tampa
Mayor Honorable Pam Iorio). And don't forget Coffees and After
Fives at fabulous venues around the Carrollwood area.
Administrative Trivia.
CABA has a new copier! We buy one every 10 years. CABA
administrator renews contract. 10 years and still works fine...
Special Thanks -
to the students of Dorothy Thomas School for gifting CABA with a
fabulous stained glass rendition of our new logo.
Special Thanks -
to the CABA friends of Nick Harjani for your support and
friendship for him over the past year. Nick! Who loves you
man?Suffice it to say that CABA feels the same way about all its
members. Once a member... always a member.
Special Thanks -
to the outgoing board of directors. 12 months of service and
dedication. They made some new and exciting decisions which
improve our behind the scenes ways and means. CABA - Count on it!
And to the members
- just a few more words...CABA is your best investment for
networking, business, leads, contacts, opportunities, liaisons,
friendship building, match-making, partnering, personal matters,
public notices, getting noticed, having fun, making money, taking
the next challenge, making a difference, exploring the
opportunities, staying informed.

Fall 2005. Immediately after Hurricane Katrina, CABA Members rallied to
the needs of our Gulf Coast neighbors by raising over $100,000 and
donating hundreds of man-hours via their individual businesses. |
|
| |
|
|
|
CABA's alliances with other Tampa
organizations give members even greater networking opportunities.

February 25, 2005 - Carrollwood - Bill
Kranich, proprietor of J Christophers Breakfast, Brunch & Lunch (a CABA
member himself) granted CABA the honor of naming his biggest meeting room,
"The CABA Room." A handsome blue, white and gold sign designed by CABA
and manufactured by Sign Solutions was mounted above the door.
A group of CABA past presidents
gathered at the popular Carrollwood eatery for lunch and to celebrate the
admirable occasion.
The Carrollwood Area Business
Association is a business networking organization which represents over 400
businesses in northwest Hillsborough. It was established in 1986. |

Carrollwood Shows Its
Patriotic Pride - 2001 |
|

Photo by Barton Workman Photography |
|
During November 2001 through May 2002 CABA and it's members along with many
individuals and other businesses from our community rallied together to have
American flag banners installed along our major thoroughfare, North Dale
Mabry Highway. Flags hung there for the first time in history covering
nearly three miles of roadway. Once removed, the banners were presented to
those who supported the project and became a significant memento of the
September 11, 2001 tragedy that our country endured. |
